Why do executives waste their time and the interviewer's time granting
an interview if they're not willing to tell us anything?

To be fair, the LEGO guy said right in his first answer:

"Because future launches are confidential, I can't say what will and won't
be available in 2001 (yet)."

It's not *his* fault that the interviewer then went on to only ask
questions about future launches.  I think the guy who talked to the LEGO
rep is the one wasting his time by consistently asking questions the LEGO
guy has already said he can't give a straight answer to.
