  Solved?? rotation sensor problem.

I tried solutions posted on this newsgroup to fix the rotation sensor problem. But It didn't work stable enough. I tracked the sensor input and realized the sensor sometimes picked up transient signal between two states. To solve this problem, I (...) (25 years ago, 10-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Re: RcxCC downloads

I wrote first something like "It seems that this NQC newsgroup is not very active, but that's probably because NQC is 99.999% bug free and so is RCXCC...". So i was definitely not asking more traffic or so, simply looking at what has already been (...) (25 years ago, 9-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: RcxCC downloads

(...) I want to second that. I missed the NQC online help in version 3 also. It's nice to have a quick reference guide handy. Joel Shafer joel@connect.net (25 years ago, 8-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: RcxCC downloads

(...) Your version 3 is also great! When NQC 2 is released will the NQC help be put back in? I thought it was real handy addition on those long nights. --- DonC donc@cccd.edu (25 years ago, 8-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

RE: Help with connecting pyroelectric sensor

(...) I read the sheet as saying the MINIMUM load is 125K, and the block diagram indicates a buffered output. It would be a good idea to buffer the output, but may not be strictly necessary. The bit about the reference being 20uA capable is correct, (...) (25 years ago, 8-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

RE: Help with connecting pyroelectric sensor

Here's the link to the pyro sensor (URL) The schematic indicates that the reference moves relative to the output... I think the reference and output terminals are mislabelled. Given that they are mislabelled... The reference output has a 20uA max (...) (25 years ago, 7-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  RcxCC downloads

Just because people want some more traffic in this newsgroup and to quantify the statement of Dave Baum, RcxCC version 2.3 was downloaded close to 3000 times from my web site up to now. Mark Overmars (...) (25 years ago, 6-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: RCX Currnet Rating?

Yes it is slow, if you count 1/2 a second slow, but not horrible. The big problem comes with control. Finding neutral again. NQC to the rescue. I find its better for this application than the RIS software. More open for creating servo control loops. (...) (25 years ago, 6-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: RCX Currnet Rating?

You mean you use the red motor/switch combination as a sort of 'electronic' fuse? Oh, right. While I'm typing I suddenly see what you mean. You use an external power supply for the motors. Clever. Isn't the switching a little slow using the (...) (25 years ago, 5-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: RCX Currnet Rating?

The best way to avoid high current running thru the brick is to control a small red motor which drives one of the polarity switches which is hooked up to a battery pack and that in turn runs the main motors. We had this problem at the LEGO (...) (25 years ago, 5-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: RCX Currnet Rating?

MJ, The RCX itself does not need a lot of power. However, if you're going to run 2 motors off each output port (a total of 6), 200 mA won't be enough. I expect the motors to draw at least 100 mA each. Even more when stalled. Maximum power to be (...) (25 years ago, 5-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: decoding a message sent by an RCX

(...) I second that! I tried using the "native" language and its limitations baffled me. I never got a program downloaded. I jumped straight to NQC and have done several now. Good work Dave! DLC (25 years ago, 5-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

Re: decoding a message sent by an RCX

  RCX Currnet Rating?

Hi, I have a 9V adapter that will fit the RCX. It has a current rating of 200mA. What is the current rating for ther RCX? I have seen adapters that are rated from 100mA up to 800mA. Thx...MJ (25 years ago, 4-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: decoding a message sent by an RCX

Woaw ! This could be great to have a full featured rcx expansion board... It should however be not too expensive, and in my opinion very basic to allow anything to be made.   decoding a message sent by an RCX
