  Displaying info while debugging
 
Hi, I would like to be able to show some info on the Terminal Emulator while debugging, but it seems that pbForth "keeps" the info until the program is over. For example: : TEST 100 0 DO I CR . 7 1 0 MOTOR_SET LOOP 7 4 0 MOTOR_SET ; will start the (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

Scott, I suggest you start by following the instructions by Paolo Masetti found at (URL) He has written a pretty thorough set of instructions that should get you started. That's because the current IR tower requires USB and Windows 95 didn't support USB (well, except for Windows 95B but I think most of the USB drivers were custom/non-standard). Ed, Thanks, I was familiar with that thread. Unfortunately not much useful info came out of it. I was hoping for a report from someone who was ultimately successful in building legOS and its tools, as well as building the cross-compilers on a USB OS (...) Hi, I have RIS 1.5 and with an RCX 2.0 brick, I have downloaded the SDK 2.0 but the sample programs report Error (0xe0050c98) from VPBrick vpb: bad (unsupported) PBrick type Is this because I am using RIS 1.5? Help says: “Simply wire in the lines of text into LASM Cmd and have the Begin and End wires on either side.” But how is that done? I can’t find a text tool that will produce (...) The new 2.1.4 Version of pbForth has a minor fix that affected programmers using the MARKER word. I recommend you get the new 2.1.2 GUI while you're at it because it is less agressive in stripping comments when uploading scripts. This was causing (...) At first, it seems logical that firmdl3 would be the best place to make the change. However, it was very easy to allow the Host ID to be changed at runtime. It seems to me that a lot of the discussion lately has been on networking multiple IR (infrared) clients using legOS. Is the IR tower using an ID? This would identify messages from the IR vs an RCX. I get this error - "main() not defined" - when compiling. The code is copied straight from the Ferrari book. While C is the language of my choice, the line of code isn't so obtuse as to hide errors from me. So probably there is some other requisite (...) I've posted a patch at sourceforge which allows you to modify the RCX's LNP id using the util/dll program. This should make life easier for those of us using multiple RCXs and LNP. I was torn between 'float' and 'brake' when implementing the remote control handler. I eventually opted for 'brake' since that is how the Lego RCX firmware does it. Nope, shorting the motors has no effect on the batteries actually.. when you spin the motor, it acts like a generator... by shorting out the motor you are actually using the motors own reverse emf (electromotive force) to brake system. In this case the memory corruption was caused by downloading a very large program in slot 1, and a small program in slot 7. The loading of the program in slot 1 seems to (...) I think I may have gotten closer. I compiled legOS and that seemed to work fine... Samuel, From Paolo install instructions (under "2. Build the Hitachi-H8 cross-compiler" last bullet) "Ignore the warnings in compile process. It should work." setup.exe Package Listing on cygwin.com will tell you that you need the libintl1 package. Samuel, Yes I have seen this error. I am guessing your install a couple of weeks ago was actually using B20 version of cygwin? or that you have reinstalled cygwin? Hello, I decided to scrape my machine today and when I tried to reinstall legos I ran into a problem compling the cross compiler under cygwin. I wonder if anyone knows about the compability between legOS and the camera set named Vision command that are available for the Legorobot? This could be taken to the extreme by making a cpu unit that just has power (plug-in option of course) and memory (expandable of course) and maybe the IR or (...) I'd be happy with a good "official" LEGO SONAR sensor and a fixed version of the LEGO Rotation Sensor (without the lost "clicks" bug) On the RCX side, I'd like a RCX 3.0 with 6+ sensor inputs and more outputs (and more RAM. It looks like xdist and ydist are integers. You divide an integer by an integer, the answer is an integer. For example, if xdist=5 and ydist=10, you have 5/10, the answer is 0 (with a remainder of 5). So, if you do the multiply first, you will be (...) I have built a plotter and want to draw a diagonal line of varying angles. It requires one motor to run slower then the other at a ratio based on the distance it has to travel compared to the other one. So I do something like this xspeed = (int) (...) Oh, and I forgot one of the "BIGGEST" wishes on the list: 5) Linksys wireless access port response rather than the directional IR port. Seems to me that the BEST implementation of the RCX would be for some CORE changes and feature sets to be built in.
