So EGCS is more recent than gcc? I can't seem to find the official download
site for it anywhere. gcc 3.0.4 was ubdated earlier this year... This
whole relationship between gcc and EGCS is very confusing, especially when
www.freshmeat.net doesnt even have egcs available!

| (...) EGCS was an offshoot of GCC, with the only difference being how the developers worked together (the bazaar vs. the cathedral model). Eventually, EGCS was declared the victor as most developers switched to it and it became the official GCC (...) (23 years ago, 15-May-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)
