Re: Studios camera working with Mindstorms

You need the "Vision Command" software to use the camera for a control for the RCX. -- Bob Fay California, USA rfay@we.mediaone.net (URL) (25 years ago, 28-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NQC 2.2 and RcxCC

Add this statement to your Autoexec.bat SET NQC_OPTIONS=-Trcx2 This is for Win 95 or 98. This makes NQC react to Version 2 of the firmware as NQC checks these options before compiling the program. That makes RcxCC happy. -- Bob Fay California, USA (...) (25 years ago, 28-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  RCX replacment firmware

I have an RCX I haven't used in a while, but plan to start working with again. The brick says 1.0, but another post said the 1.5 bricks still said 1.0. How can I tell what release I have? I've been thinking of putting in the LeJOS java VM firmware (...) (25 years ago, 28-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Can the touch sensor be used as a momentary switch? (without RCX)

(...) Unfortunately, the polarity switch is no longer available through Shop at Home. If it were, I'd pick up at least 4 of them. Ah, well- perhaps they'll start making it again. Thanks for the responses, everyone! It's bad news, but at least I (...) (25 years ago, 28-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

  Re: RCX games.

(...) Yes. Only available in RCX 2.0's firmware (which you can download from the Lego web site and run on 1.0 or 1.5 RCX sets) - and you need a pretty recent version of NQC that supports that new firmware. It's kinda weird though. You don't say "Put (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Mindstorms book with MIBO

Is the book in English or Japanese? How do propose distributing them once you have them in the US? How do we arrange payment? (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Studios camera working with Mindstorms

(...) Ah, ok, that clears that up a bit. Is there any reason I should buy the Vision Command set for the software (and extra parts), since I already have Studios? Can I get away with NQC or one of the other "real" development environments? (25 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

LEGO MINDSTORMS Robotics Invention System 2.0 Upgrade Kit

Does anyone know what's in the box of RIS 2.0 Upgrade Kit ? ...mentioned in (URL) LEGO MINDSTORMS Robotics Invention System 2.0 set will be sent to the winners when it becomes available in stores. (Planned global launch is Spring 2001.) However, the (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  NQC 2.2 and RcxCC

Is it possible to use the newer versions of NQC (after 2.1) with RcxCC? I like the keyword highlighting etc but want to use RCX 2.0 code. Thanks for any help, Henry Hallam (25 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Variable on the display

(...) I can never get it to work, I can only display constants. And even after I recompile the program and tell it to show a variable, it still shows the constant that I put in from a compile of compiles ago! (25 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Can the touch sensor be used as a momentary switch? (without RCX)

(...) It will work neither with a motor nor with a lamp (I tried that). The switch is made from conductive rubber whose resistance is too high (several hundred ohms). Jürgen (25 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

Re: Studios camera working with Mindstorms

(...) Mindstorms Vision Command it's to be connected to the computer through USB, not to the RCX. I think (not sure!) that both camera's are the same *hardware*.   Studios camera working with Mindstorms

I'm sure this has been hashed over before, but as the search function is still down, I figured I'd ask. Can the camera from LEGO studios be used with Mindstorms? If so, how? From the photographs, they look to be pretty similar, but there doesn't (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)
