From my experience, what you are describing is normal behavior for the current version of pbForth. Mr. Hempel has done an excellent job of creating a version of Forth to work with the RCX, but the work is far from complete. If you look at the (...) (...) Matt, Just because the LCD is blank does not mean that pbForth is not running. When you power the RCX on and pbForth is the firmware, the LCD is blanked. Can you communicate over the IR link? I don't know much about forth, but I'll try to help. I'm not sure that any firmware (normal) could keep the RCX from turning on. You are correct in stating that I shouldn't have restricted you to 16 nodes X 16 ports. I did however, want to normalize the host address in the visible API and user interfaces to be a small 0..N number instead of a random hex byte value, properly (...) That's because the current IR tower requires USB and Windows 95 didn't support USB (well, except for Windows 95B but I think most of the USB drivers were custom/non-standard). Thanks for the advice, I now have VC working on Xp. I had one idea which made the process easier. I installed VC on a separate Win98 partition (C:\) on my HD. Since Xp can use the FAT32 Win98 partition, I didn't have to transfer the VC files to (...) (23 years ago, 2-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics.vc)

I would have to agree with Rob here. If the Spybots can not communicate with other Mindstorms stuff then they become a 30 day toy. Its amazing the Lego price for a short-term kit is $60.00. The 40t double-bevel gear is one I haven't seen before. The smaller two are readily available in the various Bionicle kits. It looks like it's more along the lines of the micro-scout, but it sounds a bit more capable. The $60 price can include more smarts, because there aren't that many lego parts with each, only about 200. I'll bet AFOL's can find a lot more to do with (...) I think there are plans for new kits and the theme is spying. If you go to the legomindstorms site and login you will see that there is a game about spying (found under community/games/ then chose Robohunter 2). Further, if you go to Amazon (see (...) (23 years ago, 31-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)
