So far, I've only purchased ONE 2004+ set - the 4492 MINI Star Destroyer. Part
of the reason I got this set was because I wanted to see the new colours first
hand, but I bought this set mainly for one specific part.
I am primarily a castle fan, and like others have said already, unless they
release sets similar to those during the "golden age" of castle (early 90s), I
won't be buying very much (if any) from retail stores. If I'm not that
interested in the new sets, and the parts come in "incompatible" colours, then I
am alienated regardless of whether I'm a builder, or a collector.
I already have a substantial amount of light grey, with a decent amount of dark
grey to play a supporting role. I really don't have the time, money, or
patience to build up a supply of the new greys.
Recently, I've been making a few purchases on eBay and on Bricklink for - you
guessed it - sets and parts with the original greys.
