Well since I was one of the first people to respond to most of the color thread
issues I'll throw my experiences in here.
I have purchased 3 of the 2004 sets but, one got traded after pictures were
taken, the second one was a gag gift for my dad and the third was the green
x-pod that has all most none of the new colors.
So far this year I have probably spent about the same amount of money as in
previous years but the major change has been what I’m buying. Instead of
purchasing 20-30 copies of a set, I am now finding myself buying pick a brick
cups as well as grab bags by the box load. Honestly if it weren't for me working
at the Lego store and it's location, my purchases this year would be 99%
Bricklink.
I figure by this time next year my purchasing habits will shift drastically over
to Bricklink and I will be hording every last part in the old color that I can
find.

p.s. look out for a complete P.A.B. inventory from the woodfield mall (Illinois)
Lego store sometime tomorrow afternoon. Currently there is close to, if not more
than 120 varieties.
