My shopping behaviour hasn't changed a bit. Apart from the odd Technic set I
bought (the back-hoe and the 8868 from E-vil-bay), my Lego collection has been
grown just like previous years; every minifig-scale set that was brought out,
ended up in my home :-)
As my main focus is on the original models and less on MOCs, I don't mind the
new colors. The new light-grey looks to me like 'new' grey, you know, how my
classic space greys used to look like 22 years ago. When I rebuilt my classic
space base http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=72874 I noticed all
the different shades of grey and blue that the bricks had taken. You wouldn't
notice the new light grey in there anyway.
The new dark-grey is something else. It looks too much different from the old
color. But that too will fade over the years.

TLC claims that these new colors are more atractive to their main target public,
the young 'uns. But they also claim that these same kids won't notice the
difference. Seems like a fatal problem in the logics system, captain!

So in short: no, it doesn't affect my spending. The fact that the new models are
better than some of the models of the last 5 years DOES affect my spending!

(...) Maybe it's supposed to be a subliminal attractiveness... they will like the colors better but not realise why? If so that would be a best of both worlds thing I guess. I haven't seen that theory advanced much, if at all. (20 years ago, 14-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

I know the whole 'new colors' topic has been done again and again, but I was thinking today about the way it has affected my recent buying decisions. I was wondering if other people had been affected to the same degree. To be fair, I did buy one set (...) (20 years ago, 13-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping) !!
