Why is it that (acording to an official page at lego.com), Russia (of all places) is getting a Lego Store (in moscow) but countries with probobly a much greater market (e.g. Australia or Canada) arent? (20 years ago, 5-Apr-04, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.general)

OH BOY Rosco you just NOW looked at the bottom? You know, Clark has been tracking this for AGES... The "new" brick looks to be just molded in an older mold, as they seems to vary from set to set for me, sometimes I get the ones with the holes in the (...) (20 years ago, 3-Apr-04, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.general)

(...) I did a little check on my 1xn bricks and saw this "problem" on all types and colours, from 1x2 to 1x8. In my opinion, there are two or more moulds, each with a little difference, and they change them every now and then. (For cleaning and (...) Has anyone else noticed this? It seems newer 1x6 & 1x8 bricks have a different mold. See this comparison: (URL) older brick on the left has holes in the bottom studs, but more importantly, the flanges on studs 2 & 4 don't go all the way to the (...) (...) Incorrect. On a scale of 1 to 10, four years ago Lego was a 10 and Mega Bloks was a 3. Today Lego is a 9 and Mega Bloks is a 7.5. So, tons of people have ordered some of that last production run of the true grays and brown, right? I myself ordered several bulk packs of them as soon as they were on the LEGO website. Just as you said - clear roofs on large structures. Or LTCs that paint their tables - build a building on clear, and drop it on a table. Or paint a table blue, and drop these over it. I second the motion--this 48x48 clear baseplate would be a definite asset. I probably can't afford as much as Tom ;), but I'd get at least 5. The sets lately haven't thrilled me. I only buy sets if I KNOW I'll like the parts. Those 3x3 corner slopes aren't in the picture on the front of the box. OK, I just voted with my wallet - so to speak. Echoing another, it is still a minor and temporary "fix" to this issue. I suspect that TLC is somewhat adrift and lost in its focus. Too bad. It may be old to you, but if everyone stops complaining, TLG might get the idea that the color change doesn't matter anymore, which is far from the case. While new assortment bags are (as you say) no solution to the Color Change, they are still great sets by themselves, and hats off for the speed to implement these new sets. Jake! Thanks. I just ordered a modest quantity of old color light and dark grey bricks and plates to ensure I can complete an existing project. Tim, you couldn't be more wrong. Lego as a company could satisfy me easily. Change back to the original grey and brown colors and move on. Yes Larry, I am absolutely serious. Everyone has to take the color change situation in their own way.
