You're right. When you try stacking those macaroni bricks, they become very unstable. I usually use only 3 or 4 on top of each other, and then a curved plate on top of that (sort of an overhang). The only stability with these is if you make a light (...) (26 years ago, 28-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)

Master Modeler James as usual does not announce new stuff very well. ;-) Follow his link and check out his SLAG CAR! Very cool. (...) Right. Symmetrical yes, but all the base pieces are rotated 45 degrees around their respective y-axes. With respect to the model, the picture shows the turret rotated 45 degrees. In 8428/32 (Cool Car/Turbo Command) there is a single small shock absorber in the suspension-lowering 'toggle switch' mechanism. Its grey part is actually dark grey, and the spring has fewer windings (~4 instead of ~6) and is much stiffer. Is this (...) (26 years ago, 20-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)

I found an application where two 1x2x5 bricks worked much better than 5 1x4 bricks. I was building a framework with Technic beams (basically the same thing I posted to lugnet.cad.dat the other day). I was inserting stacks of 1x4 bricks between the (...) (26 years ago, 19-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)

Well I did a proof of concept layout tonight for the trailer for 5571 Monster Big Rig. Though I initially was looking to use 1x6 and 1x8 black bricks, 1x4's actually work very well and are much more common. If you have any black 1x4's for sale or (...) (26 years ago, 17-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)
