You're right.  When you try stacking those macaroni bricks, they become
very unstable.  I usually use only 3 or 4 on top of each other, and then a
curved plate on top of that (sort of an overhang).  The only stability
with these is if you make a light house for example.  Then you can stagger
them like regular bricks.  But how many RTLers have enough macaroni bricks
available to create a light house?  Not too many, I'll bet!

That is why we need these in parts packs.  Besides the 1x1 rounds, 1x1
cones, the 2x2 cylinders and the macaroni bricks, LEGO could include the
relatively new 4x4 quarter rounds.  That would make for an awesome
"rounded brick" parts pack.

I just thought of these. They are great to make rounded corners, but
the structural soundness of the model is less than with overlapping
1x2's. They should make a 1x2 with a rounded-off end, sort of like a
1x1 with half of a 'macaroni' attached to it.

(...) Don't forget the 4x4 round brick with side holes! Here's some others I'd love to see in a rounded parts pack: - 6x6 rounded-corner plate (fits with the 4x4 quarter-round brick) - 3x3 rounded-corner plate (new for Star Wars, I think) (fits with (...) (26 years ago, 28-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)
