Well I did a proof of concept layout tonight for the trailer for 5571 Monster
Big Rig. Though I initially was looking to use 1x6 and 1x8 black bricks, 1x4's
actually work very well and are much more common. If you have any black 1x4's
for sale or trade let me know please. Oh, BTW the trailer is 88x16 studs and
16 bricks high (that's just the van dimensions). I orignially was thinking
100x20 studs and 20 bricks high, but that proved too wide for the mirrors of
the tractor. Going down to 18 studs would have been too odd of a number.
5571 also needed some modification to the placement of the 5th wheel (too close
to sleeper). The tractor is also in desperate need of dual rear wheels. I
also still need another six wheels and tires too (I only have 12 so far). Plan
to use the Technic worm gear (from the VTOL for example) to raise and lower the
landing gear on the trailer.
Anyone got ideas about how to model the air brake connection lines between the
trailer and cab?? Those corugated Technic tube things are too stiff and too
big.

| (...) My, my, that is going to be pretty big. Have you considered using pneumaitic tubing for the brake lines? It comes in a nice gray color and is very flexible. -- Terry K -- (26 years ago, 17-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)
