Todd,
...It is very clear there are a few people who agree with what you have
done, but the vast majority of us feel what you have done is without merit
and wrong...

I can't speak for the "majority of us", but I for one do not see how you could
assume that the majority of the lugnet community believes that what Todd has
done is wrong.  Personally, when things are agreeable to me, I speak very little
of it.  It's mostly when something goes wrong that I become vocal..  So perhaps
just because the most vocal comments are ones of dissent, it doesn't
automatically mean it's the majority's opinion?

I don't remember who made the comment of leaving Lugnet and starting another,
"better" service, but I have my 2 cents to add about that.  Sure, by all means
start a new group if you'd like; I hope it becomes successful.  But please do
NOT try to make Lugnet crash and burn in the process!  Doing so would be a huge
abuse to the community.  I've seen quite a few owners pull the plugs on their
popular services because of threats from those who don't quite agree with how
things are run...  Todd, whatever negative comments come your way, please do not
terminate Lugnet in response!  There are countless people happily living in
various groups.  I for one do not care about whether or not Lego employees are
allowed to post.  Ignorance is bliss as you may, but I am happy that Lugnet
exists for me to participate in my interests.  I firmly believe that Lugnet was
created in such a way that it serves me as a fan.  I wouldn't want it any other
way.

Todd, remember that if the majority of the community truly did not find Lugnet
agreeable, its membership base would probably not be so big.  It's a simple, but
powerful inference.

Cheers to all,

Todd, Let me start off by saying I respect all the work and effort you have put into creating this site, it truly is a great site, and I DO love your site! I have from the first time I came here, nothing will change that. And I know this is your (...) (24 years ago, 17-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp, lugnet.general, lugnet.lego.direct)
