I was recently going through some boxes of old toys at my parents house when i made unearthed about 100 pieces from my sloppy youth. Items to note were a a 1x2 gray brick with the classic space logo, two complete yellow classic space men with the (...) (27 years ago, 21-Sep-99, to lugnet.general)
 
  12v trains and track / 4.5v track
 
The two main sets consist of the train, track and engine driver only, i.e. no passengers, loads, platforms, road vehicles, etc. The speed regulators are available at no extra cost if required (240VAC @ 50/60Hz), but they will obviously increase (...) I had only bought the 6909-Sonic Stinger but just picked up the 6919-Planetary Prowler (at a discount price) and I find myself liking the Insectoids sub-theme more than I thought I would. Apple just announced one at Seybold. $4K (ouch). Supposed to ship end of Oct. Most people who saw it at the show were pretty impressed. The connection is digital not analog. NEC has a 21" Screen I believe that is like $5000 and is awesome. Saw one at a presentation from NEC showing their wares and they had Quake II running on it. Good test of a screen in my book. Oh yeah, one more thing, how about connecting a 5 ohm resistor in series with a DC motor and there are 2 amps flowing, then the resistor is dissipating 20 watts of heat.
