I say either no Guns or have Guns.  No in between.  I would love to have some
decent looking blasters for Star Wars so my vote would be to Give the Cops
Guns and create some Blasters.  On the other hand if TLG were to decide no
more guns I would be happy with that.  I just don't like the wishy-washyness
that exists today where guns are OK historically but have no place in the
present/future.

I have to agree. If TLG wants to be non-violent, no guns anywhere. On the other
hand, I think maybe they could draw a line with things like modern day weapons.
I think they can give the police hand-held pistols, and still do without
semi-automatic weapons, grenade launchers, flamethrowers, etc. To sidetrack my
own sense of "it's not fair! everyone else does it!" I'll just add that most
toys (at least boys' toys in the USA) have crazy amounts of guns. I think TLG
can find a happy medium between being completely non-violent and insanely
violent... somewhere inbetween Bambi and Rambo.

<snip> (...) You will also notice that there are not any real hand-held blasters in Star Wars. The closest they have come to blasters is a Classic Space camera thingy for the Rebel Soldier in the Snowspeeder set and Megaphones with trans-red 1x1 (...) (25 years ago, 21-Sep-99, to lugnet.faq)
