Just one: LDraw. Never run out of plates, windows, or bricks, and it's
absolutely free :-)
As long as you have a variety of real life parts to work with, you can try out
various construction ideas, then use LDraw to make a complete building with
your ideas. Of course you don't get a physical copy of your work, but using
POV-Ray, you can make some stunning pictures for others to see.

(Phone number is 1-800-453-4652) They have them in (...) (26 years ago, 30-Mar-99, to lugnet.general)
