I knew that there was something I forgot to include! I think 16 was what we mentioned for tunnel clearances. I LOVED Brian Williams' suggestion of having the entrance to the tunnel removable so that a smaller or larger "mouth" could be added to look (...) I'm not sure that we've really set a hard top yet. By guess is that 14 will be probably the high end, mostly because the tunnels start to look really silly if they need to let through cars that are taller than that. Is there going to be a standard size car/rolling stock standard? i.e.,clearance on all tracks for something 8x44x14 (or whatever) I would think that this would be just as important as standard track interfaces and such, as this is going to be the (...) And the BayLTC layout will be using the upper height exclusively, as our layout will include the optional low track at 4 bricks+1 plate. Well, it is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. I think that legomodular could be claimed as deprecating a brand more than LEGO(tm)-Modular could. I think that Lego is getting pretty ridiculous on their protection. Lego-modular describes exactly what it is. What else should it be called? Modular train tables using ABS automatic binding bricks? The capacitor can be used to run lights in a train if you run an RCX to power the rails - that way, the lights will be full brightness. That's assuming the cap has a diode to allow current only one way, otherwise you'd have to add one to the wire (...) (25 years ago, 30-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

I will modify the doc to state it as a "random pattern" but I noticed a difference between the "splotchy" type and the "fissure" type. I built mine with the fissure type pattern, although sometimes it can look like black lightning. (Would that be (...) (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

I have found the cheapest way for skirts is colored bed sheets. I bought a a few sets of sheets (not fitted) and cut them in half, they work great. Plus they already have the edges seamed. You can add Velcro to the edges or just use clear thumb (...) (25 years ago, 28-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

I'm pleased to say that I completed my tables over the weekend. Birch faced plywood was the way to go. The surface is nice and smooth and required minimal sanding. The tables also offer the storage advantage when used at home. I can store lots (but (...) (25 years ago, 28-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

I only have 7 motors, so I raced them. I started two motors next to each other, one in front of the other, and race in the forward direction and then in the opposite direction. My oldest motor is MUCH slower than my fastest. So, since I have gone (...) (25 years ago, 28-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)
