How will you handle engines/trains with multiple motors as they cross the
transition from one trackset to the other?

Not seeing anything yet, this might have already been covered.  But, have you
guys addressed electrical inter-operablity between modules?

Well, any module that has electrical connections to the track will run them
back to the controller area in the module.  From there, a controller could be
removed and the wire just run to the other controller where multiple layouts
are connected, so I don't think it will be much of a problem.  I would
personally like to see our layouts get to the size that these issues become a
problem, but right now, I think it is fairly minimal.

The GMLTC is planning on having two speed regulators for each track around our
layout.  We'll split the layout electrically, so we can have higher power on
the uphill side, and lower power on the downhill side.  We really have no idea
how our larger (8-wide) trains will handle the grades...

We're also planning on having some stuff that the kids can control, either
with Mindstorms pushbutton controls, or maybe even a speed regulator on the
outside of the layout somewhere...
