Im not too thrilled with all this new lego crap comming out.
First its the Cyber junk, then the Robo/ThrowBott crap, and now this
Bionicle mess.
Whats with all these crappy new lego pieces?
"Who are the ad wizards who came up with this one?"

Wanna make me happy Lego? Release a set with a four of those big turntables,
the drivetrain/suspension from the 8880 SuperCar (circa 1996?), and a whole
mess of long beams :*)

==============================
The following pieces are junk:

I hear ya'! I think _some_ studless pieces might be alright, but whole set's without studs and only specialized pieces? I got two Power Pullers on sale recently. It has some valuable pieces but what am I going to do with all those engine elements??? (...) (23 years ago, 24-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)

Gee, I didn't even know half that crap existed..... Add to the make-us-happy-set a V12 with the old cylinders and ten 24x43 solid wheels.... And for the second release the old threads (like in 856) or a worthy successor. As for beams, I've heard of (...) (23 years ago, 24-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)

We need a new group, lugnet.technic.hatea...ssince1998 I can understand people who don't go for the action-figury sets, they are pretty darn untraditional for Lego, but to disregard all these fun sets just because they aren't all boxy? (...) (23 years ago, 24-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) Ack ack ack! How can you say this? :-) I have used quite a few of those pieces in pretty useful ways, and the corrugated tubes are brilliant if you are into making your models look realistic. The cab on my excavator would be nothing without (...) (23 years ago, 24-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) are *not* junk. The corrugated tubes are extremely useful, not only for decoration but for constructing flexible articulated touch bumpers in robots. Many of the Throwbot joints and liftarms have superfluous decorative characteristics, but are (...) (23 years ago, 24-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)

Yep, I'm not too happy either. So, I propose we come up with something to call these parts (the ones collecting dust at the back of our collection). UTP: useless Technic parts SSTP: stuipidly specialized Technic parts HISUTEP: highly specialized (...) (23 years ago, 24-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) and let me add the bionicle body part to that. it would be great if that one would have been build out of axles and beams instead of being one piece of plastic. Koen (23 years ago, 25-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) I just built the 8446 Monster Crane Truck and I say we just have to learn to use these new parts! I'm truly amazed... Must be one of the best Technic set's from 1999. To bad it looks like something out of a bad Mars movie though... I think (...) (23 years ago, 26-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)
