Go to the mindstorms aisle at eToys.com, they have both the RIS 1.5 and RIS 1.0 listed, and both are in stock. Great way to get an RIS with the power jack (and, more importantly IMHO, the "notch" that allows a LEGO wire to be conveniently routed (...) No, I don't, but thanks for the offer. I've actually never built a GUI in anything except Java until today, but Glade ((URL) makes building a GTK gui ridiculously easy- it literally took about 30 minutes to go from knowing absolutely nothing to (...) I'm using LegOS 0.2.4 on Windows 2000 (Cygwin solution). I receive errors when I try to compile any code that activates a sensor. One of the missing "nice-to-have" features with the RCX is a programmable display. It would be great if LEGO implemented this feature. Hi there, I donwloaded, compiled and used legOS 2.4 which worked all very fine. But since then, I cannot use the serial port anymore that I connected the IR-tower to. Gaurav, Certainly isn't in my case, these motors are stalled so bad I can't get them to move at all now unless I stick a 24t gear on them and turn them by hand. Rob, Did you ever get any answers to this query? I also have three of the newer Technic motors that have seized. (Out of a collection of about 10 motors that's a 30% failure rate - not good!) I think the limit is 19456 bytes for the kernel, and this is caused by a limitation of the ROM, which is used to download the firmware (kernel). It loads it to the address range 8000-cc00. (...) Ciaran- To the best of my knowledge, no one has written such an interface. If you want to tackle it yourself, I'd suggest looking at pyLNP (URL) and the two Java interfaces that my lego + linux howto will soon list: (URL) imagine that with the (...) Yeah. I have to agree with Ross. Increased unix-ness would be nice, but additional complexity with no actual performance gain most definitely is not. Thanks Dean, where did you get your info - have you an inside source? Or would you have to kill me if you told me??? I was kind of hoping that the next RCX would be a bit smaller.
