Having built a number of non-DCC reversing loops, I can tell you it's pretty straightforward to jumper using track power leads, as Larry suggests. (...) Actually you're incorrect. LegoFests were events just like rtlToronto events originally initiated in Southern California back on rec.toys.lego around 1995-1996. Definition of Legofest varies depending on who you ask but is surely broader than your definition... My personal one (...)
