Actually yes.  Among fighting corporate Real Estate this morning,
demonstrating my two fisted project management skills, and the usual
critical nonurgent at the office, we also managed to hunt down a source of
L272M's at a component firm.  With any luck, 15 will be making their way to
me soon.

We could have used like LM386 or something but, I think this is easier.
They were cheap!  97 cents each.

Note:  I consider a good tactical project day a "three pack habit day", ie,
running down three Companion batteries on my digital cordless over the
course of 9AM-11PM. :)  It's midnight now and I'm still rolling.

Yes.....

it looks like DCC is a closer realization at (or with) rtlToronto than was
possible...Awesome....I still like that DCC joystick/controller for $150...
it looked very neat (I saw it at my local hobby shop)....
but I really don't want to spend that kind of dough on something like that...
it just looked (as I said) incredibly cool....
