The queen's got the keys because she's the chatelain - in charge of • the

Good enough explaination to me.  After having a second look at her I'll
admit that she's not as bad as I originally thought..nowhere near as bad
(IMHO) as Pirate Wench or Islander Babe.

Sheesh, LEGO produces *two* positive female role models in a line and • people

Hardly.  My point though is that some of the recent female minifigs • aren't
quite appropriate for the age TLC is focusing their sets on (last I • looked
it was between 6 and 12 years old for System).  I'm just not too • comfortable
with a 6 year old boy bringing something like the Pirate Wench up to me • and
asking "What's that?" as he points to her cleavage.  As a parent *I'LL*
choose when to discuss the differences between boys and girls, etc, and • I'll
thank toy manufacturers to refrain from producing playthings that might
force the issue.

I started to say this last night... and decided against it... though the
comment above makes me want to retype it.... I know parents have to
shield their kids from some things in this world... though I'd like to
know HOW you get through a shopping trip to the mall.. or grocery
store... or go to the movies with your kids??? do you put blinders on
them? or make them wear paper bags on their heads??? I'm sorry.. though
I've seen more skin on kids while walking around the mall, then I see on
those little minifigs... I won't even go into the body piercings.... I
would much rather explain to a child about the human body and it's
nothing to be ashamed of then answer their questions of what's hanging
out of someone's nose...

Well, some people do try to shield their kids from certain things, and it is
a parents choice to do so. While I like women minifigs in LEGO, there are
some people who don't like it (In terms o fthe pirate wench, etc.). It is a
very personal choice whether they like seeing that stuff or not, or their
children, but as a person who has seen both shileded and not shielded
children, you can effectively block most things of what a child sees.
Unfortunately, there is a lot more "skin" and the like now than, lets say,
20-30 years ago, in various cultural parts. I think this is drifting into
off-topic debate again, so I will lead it there, and sign off.

I think that says more about the people with that worry than
it
does about the 'figs themselves.

Agreed (especially with regard to my chastity belt crack...I don't think • too
many kids would go there :-).  Again, feel free to call me a prude.
