Yeah. I like the idea of another site, but I'm still strongly listening to the
people who say to keep it at LDraw.org. Its good to have the name and I think
that I'll wait a week until I've talked with Steve more about stuff before
deciding to leap into another site. I just got through with a meeting with Todd
after the NELUG meet which has gotten my head spinning a bit more - so more
ideas that I want to organize, etc. Basically, we need to map stuff out and not
jump at it for now - get a solid plan of where LCAD is going before deciding on
making another site, etc.

*I think* LDraw.org will allow it - you'll have to run your code through Jacob
first though.

Good idea. So, if such a system was implimented, we could do away with parts
pack updates and go to individual synchronization and a 'continuously updating'
parts library as individual parts become approved.

I'll get it, but won't get a chance to play with it until I arrive in Chicago on
Wed. I should download while I still have a broadband connection :-\

Yeah...but it would still be beneficial. I don't see it happening within a year
though, seeing the rate of growth we're at and all - there's no real active push
for a new format.

Nope.... probably because I'm not a programmer myself. If I wrote one of the
cad programs that would increase the likelihood of me getting that email. I get
email for help on all sorts of stuff though, a few a week.

I copied the discussion there because it has to do with the LDraw.org
site/organization. It should be xposted to both groups, IMO.

Yes. IMO, LDraw should always be there, available, etc, but as things develop
the community will eventually move away from its everyday use completely. Its a
fact of life.
We're on the right track here, I believe.
