But we don't need to write a new format -- it's already there.  Heck, there are a
bunch of "better formats".  One very common one is POV-Ray.  Why start from
scratch to creae YAGDL?

Of course, this is a very utopic dream that has a 0.001% chance of
getting done, but I believe that Tim wants to see it happening too. I
think that all people who have their feets on the ground can ignore this
thread. :)

I don't care *that* much about it happening.  If someone does it, that's great and
I'll jump ship from DAT to whatever.

What I think is more important, and more reachable, is to firmly cement LDraw to
POV-Ray, so we can all easily get high-quality output from our LDraw models.  If
we had an accepted standard to work from, we could be producing high-quality
POV-Ray-based parts from now until the cows come home.

And we could still call them LDraw.
