It is a moot point, but I view economics as:
A means by which alternatives may be structured so that a decision may be
reached.
Therefore the sunk cost rule is universally applicable.
If the conclusion is that the existing CAD set-up is not sustainable, then
so be it. Personally, I found getting to the stage of being able to output
via POV to be very time consuming(1). The big irony is that if TLC were to
charge $30 - $50 for a programme which gives output 90% as good as we have
right now, but is more intuitive, I expect a good deal of us would buy it -
_and_ more of us would use it.
If they wanted, they could make parts available as soon as they are in the
shops or perhaps even supply instructions in that format. Lets hope so
anyway.

(1) I am appreciative of everyone in donating their time/effort to make
these programmes available to all, and the end result is very very good indeed.

| (...) I'm sorry, I have to agree with you that it is indeed universally applicable, and yet... not actually relevant to the real question. The real question is this: What is the expected benefit of developing and releasing a CAD program - that is in (...) (24 years ago, 6-Dec-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

| Is this about a license for parts-builders or the format of the DAT files ? Personally I think the current DAT file structure is the best there is . Of course one would want higher quality outputs from Povray like the heads i've seen in other (...) (24 years ago, 6-Dec-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)
