Two other resources come to mind:
Lutz Uhlmann's Parts Reference at:
http://titan.informatik.uni-bonn.de/~uhlmann/partlst.html
Technica reference of technic parts at:
http://w3.one.net/~hughesj/technica/t_contents.html

Both of these cover lots of parts not done in LDraw, and the Technica pages
even have images of parts not LDrawn.

Both great pages, I still ahve to add them, which is some work with the
Technica page because the names of the parts are only in the pictures.
I have to check if the parts on Lutz Uhlmann's page, that are also LDrawn have
the same names. That would mean that those parts don't have to be added again.

5. Adding images or links to images to the overview list and make it a real
searchable database.

Ideal would be both an LDrawn image and a scanned or POV-Ray image.
It would be nice if that was possible, many parts are already in Ldraw, but
many should still be added. At the moment, this has not really high priority
for me.
