If there are touch sensors pressed at the time the RCX is turned off there will be some semi-random junk left on the LCD display. Finally I got a firmdl3 version that FULLY works on Winnt, both in slow and fast mode! No more "write: permission denied" or "read: permission denied" problems... I know this isn't the right forum for such things, but I just saw some 8257 sets at $25 in the local Walmart. These can supply handy additional parts to Mindstorms if you need that kind of thing.
