Gee, I’ve despaired of getting any 9V electric plates for a long time. Last I
look there were some in Spain or Hungary, but that was about it. I wonder how
someone in the US places an order in France?

AFAIK you can’t (this type of order can be placed “everywhere” in europe but is
not publicized by TLC and you have to know LEGO item numbers - the ones you can
see in the BOM at the end of some 2006 BIs) . Anyway, I’m afraid the Electric
2x4 plate is about to be unavailable also here - the girl from LEGO Direct told
me this morning they have only 50 of them. I have placed an order and will
receive (only) 20 - we are usualy limited to 10 :-(. I have yet promised John to
send him some...
