Once upon a time, (on Mon, 7 Jun 1999 06:12:13 GMT, to be precise!), Terry K
uttered the following profundities....
Maybe so.  Perhaps that was a factor in Luke ultimately being stronger.
And the idea of the midichlorians is not totally bad.  As I remember it, they
themselves aren't the force, they only allow their host to interpret or
interact with the force.  So they don't "explain" what the force is.

A valid point.
Along the lines of they being essential to all life was what
I had trouble with. The film, the book by Terry Brooks,
nothing I have encountered so far go into any great detail
as to their contribution. (Of note, however, is in the book
"The Making of The Phantom Menace," they are described as a
type of bacteria.

All living cells, both plant and animal,
have common components, but don't remember enough biology/
zoology to remember if they are "essential."

(...) they (...) Paradoxically, if they *are* lifeforms (micro-organisms), how can they be "essential" to *all* life? Wouldn't they also, then, need themselves? Jeff (25 years ago, 8-Jun-99, to lugnet.starwars)
