Rick has gotten better as an actor. I don't think I'd have a problem >with • him
as Anakin.

Yes, my wife and I have NEVER liked NYPD Blue, nor have we watched it --
until a few episodes this season.  I think Rick Schroder (sp?) has done a
very commendable job in his NYPD role, and I have no reason to believe he
couldn't do a great job as Anakin.

As someone else pointed out, he's tougher looking and has enough rough edges
to convincingly portray someone going through what Anakin will go through.
I'd certainly prefer him over Leo for all the reasons above and several
others I haven't mentioned here.  Actually, come to think of it, Schroder's
my first choice for this role (certainly better than that Joshua Jackson kid
from the silly unnamed teen age soap opera -- $%@#!).  He and the main
character from this show have both been rumored for the Anakin role.

In lugnet.starwars, Charles Spindell writes:

being considered for the part of Anakin.

May the Force be with us.

I hope it is. "Difficult to see, the dark side is."

I could live with a love story in the SW universe. But I'd still want it
to have very cool special effects. If there were to be fewer of these • effects
(as is typical in a love story because so much of the film is character
development) they should be the better sort or else it's gonna flop big • time.

A fantastic rescue would be in order here.

I agree. There's also a much stronger resemblance between Rick Schroder and Jake Lloyd. That never hurts! I've always liked NYPD Blue, but Jimmy Smits is sorely missed IMHO. Dave Steve Berry wrote in message <005a01beb117$660f5e...-berry>... (...) (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jun-99, to lugnet.starwars)
