For me, I have evolved from colors to actually sorting bricks out by their size/shape. I have eight 60 drawer shelving units, and multiple plastic variable size tackle box type containers. Kevin Wilson (...) At the risk of sounding negative, these didn't work as well as I'd hoped. Perhaps I couldn't get the right ones - what I got were drawers/trays about 6-8" deep, 4" wide and about 3" high. They stacked so I tried that. It worked (...) (25 years ago, 11-May-99, to lugnet.storage)

As some other guys, I think the most appropriate way of sorting/storing the pieces (from the building point of view) is using a drawer system. Mine is from "port-bag" (an imported product so it must be available some other places, too). They are (...) (25 years ago, 11-May-99, to lugnet.storage)

lots of interesting ideas here : ) here is the system I developed recently and its works for me. it goes thru a couple of stages. I prefer to sort by color first dumping the need to sort legos into one of the large boxes from the 5571 truck / dark (...) (25 years ago, 12-May-99, to lugnet.storage)

I combine building with sorting. Most of my pieces are sorted following the colour and type rule, each separate. But with bricks and plates, I "build" them, and then store them. By building, I stack the pieces together, and they fit quite well into (...) (25 years ago, 12-May-99, to lugnet.storage)

Ed, your system sounds like Conan's (the GMLTC host/chief lunatic) in a lot of ways. (...) He has about 100 or so of these. 40 of them are for basic bricks and plates, and 30 or so for slopes and windows. A final 30 or so have train parts, hinges (...) (25 years ago, 23-May-99, to lugnet.storage)

That's what Conan has bunches of. the Pause DB does NOT have 575... or any other set that would be it, at least not under BASIC 5+, (...)
