  Styling Pack

I got a couple of the power packs. One color theme of the styling pack is silver. The big panels are silver and so are the flexible rods and most of the flexible tubes. The flexible rods are no good for drive shafts, they twist too easily. The rods (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: C/C++/ActiveX interface to Quickcam or Vision Command??

YES. Take a lot at VideoServer. It is a very simple interface to access any camera from windows to do any image processing. Here is the link (and it is free for non-commerical use): (URL) Original Message ----- From: "Amos" <amos@ite.his.se> To: (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: sound design (Re: 2nd RCX AND PNEUMATICS)

(...) Yup. You really have to use a belt somewhere in the drive train with these motors, which allows it to slip instead of jamming. (...) I'd tend to agree, although they can be useful in functional applications if you are very careful. Sometimes I (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

sound design (Re: 2nd RCX AND PNEUMATICS)

(...) Yes, my two also emit a rather unpleasant high-pitched sound. Personally, I tend to always use gear motors. In the beginning I used a minimotor for steering a robot, but it was very slow and jammed often. I'd say they are better for rotating (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)
