My daughter is in the local Youth Band and they are a marching and concert
band. It's interesting that when they enter competitions here in Canada,
there are separate categories for US and Canadian bands, because the styles
are so very different. Canadian bands tend to be more traditional "Military"
style in both uniform and marching/drill, whereas the US bands go for very
fancy uniforms and a marching style which approaches dance.
