Here are some model team ideas for TLG, if you are listening:
1.a motorbike

Yes,I agree.Think to an Harley-Davidson,with many chromed bricks...or a red
Ducati...

A lovely idea, but they have already half-built two Italian motorcycles
already with the technic series - just add shaft drive with some bevel gears
and you have a Moto Guzzi. This is one type of 'Model Team' set which could
combine technic elements to work AND look like the real thing.

2.a boat (anything goes here, from an oil tanker to a small yaught)
Or how about the ultimate lego model, the RMS titanic, complete with a little
leonardo di caprio minifig :)

Why not Luna Rossa?

Or how about the RMS Titanic AFTER the sinking - less bricks required, just
some brown elements to represent floating wooden doors and plenty of inanimate
minifigs to cling on hopelessly?

3.a locomotive (steam, diesel or electric)

Yeeeees !I want 16-wide trains!!!

A 'Model Team' version could be made 'narrow guage' and work with the existing
9v train system

4.a race car (formula 1, I guess)
5.a spacecraft or sattelite (a model team space shuttle would rock, even more • so
than that technic one they did)
6.a bus (ordenary, I know but I would love a model team bus)

6 bis. a vintage (doubledeck,why not?) trolley,electric or horse-pulled.

7.an airplane (since military planes are out of the question, mabie a cestna • type
light plane, or a small private jet)
Or you could think big and hope for a model team concorde :)
8.a car, like a sports car or a convertable (think BMW Z3 roadster here)
9.a monster truck (a good rational for having tyres that are 5 times too big • for the
vechicle)

Think to a trailer for 5571!

Would you like vintage cars (with spoked wheels),like the ones TLG produced in
the seventies?

Bye
Gianluca

I would love to see ANYTHING representing a real life* item or vehicle. Can
you remember the last time this was achieved with a Lego set - Technic Space
shuttle maybe?

Jon

*I've excluded fantasy items from Star Wars, Winnie the Pooh etc.

(...) Hmmmmm...this sounds a good idea. Why not ,for example, 10 wide narrow gauge trains or tramways? Gianluca (25 years ago, 8-May-00, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.modelteam, lugnet.dear-lego)
