There is a big opportunity for a US citizen/s to make a living selling to
other countries the LSAH and full US range of sets, just tack a percentage
on to make it worthwhile (the US has a low retail price + clearances).

Weeeell.. I ANAL but--

Wouldn't that be considered (beyiond a certain amount of $$) exporting? Which
would, quite likely, require the IRS involvement as well as (maybe?) some
contract with TLC?

Of course, but I guess IRS is a personal issue and as long as taxes are paid,
what would they care.
Exporting, governments just love exporters, and the Lego is manufactured in
the US (or most of it).
If your buying the sets retail, they can't really do much, because technically
your selling second-hand goods and this is happening anyway now on ebay, not
to mention parts auctions etc. But these are just based on my 'Judge Judy'
common sense legal viewpoint.

Need I mention the coming Lego Direct.
Wait... there's the name ...Lego-Indirect.

:-)

Amazon will deliver books to Aust.,but not Lego, maybe there's some legal
stuff I am unaware of.

'Zactly. You probably need some sorta license with TLC.

But that would be because they're buying wholesale, that's when your under
the thumb. If Lego would run their own business properly, we wouldn't have
these concerns. What's the three generation saying with regard to family
fortunes made and lost (see profit history last 5 years).

Shiri, check out this thread from the start regarding the Pitman brothers in
Western Australia, it's quite interesting. It shows you what buying power
gives you in 'muscle'. If we could marshal the buying power of Lugnet users,
it might prove interesting.
