Yeah that's one thing you're gonna hafta REALLY think about.  If such a group
gets formed, and is successful, I don't think Lego will ignore you guys
anymore.  Although you're not selling original Lego kits, you ARE selling
something very similar: box, instructions, pieces... The only thing that's
different is that the model was not designed my Lego modellers.

And as far as I know (correct me if I'm wrong), TLC doesn't allow just anybody
to sell their products as a retailer...

Another thing, I don't think anybody (or any group of people) has used
something you can buy from the store, modified it, and then re-sold it again!

I'm not saying that these custom kits are a bad idea, I think they're really
cool... Hey in fact, these might give TLC the "push" to create the BEST models
possible (not some of the Town Jr. stuff, which could be better).  But some
careful thought must be put into this before jumping into anything.

(...) I can imagine <g>. I ws thinking more about the selling end because it can be done virtually. Sharing parts buying introduces the extra cost of mailing parts around - which may or may not be worthwhile. However, I certainly wouldn't assume (...)
