Now, if that was so, Richard, why would I have noted in *both* my recent
posts in this thread that I wanted to know how Lego would view this? In
this case, Lego has absolutely the "whip hand": if they do not want this
to happen they are the ones who supply the bricks (whether through sets
or through Lego Direct) and they are the ones who can afford flocks of
lawyers if necessary <g>. Personally, I would not get into something
like this unless I knew that Lego would not be bothered by it.
Add to this many of the points raised by others - that this really would
be a very small cottage industry compared to the size of TLC itself,
that there will be limitations on direct ordering of parts (which we
don't know specifics of yet), etc etc and I think you are over-reacting.
Larry's hopper, even if he sells 100 of them, will not make the
slightest dent in TLC's profits, and the rest of this is discussion at
this point and no more.
And I would really like to see some discussion about the idea of custom
kits from a practical point of view, rather than so many messages
discussing what TLC may or may not think. As a group, we sure go off
into flights of imagination at the drop of a <minifig> hat!
