Is anyone else here a little miffed at the lack of items on special here recently. It's been pretty lame, the selection and quantity is usually much better, last year we were gobbling up ninja and adventurere sets at half off, now we get "loading (...) Hey Everyone, I went to Target (Greatland) in Thousand Oaks, CA (Newbury Park?) today and picked up three 8735 Technic Motor Kit (with gear-reduction motor) for US$18.75 each (normally US$39.95) on their toy clearance aisle. I'm fairly certian it's the type that are sold at LEGOLAND. They are made from a durable foam that's survived my 3 boys beating each other for months now. I just got back from a NJ Target. As of 12:30PM, it was still at 50% off. Even then, it was picked mostly clean from a couple of days ago when they had a couple of 4561's, Tie-I's, motor sets, and some Mindstorm expansion kits. The only things left (...) It seems that most people are aware of the reductions at Target stores. When I looked a few days ago the prices were 50% of several sets including the Star Wars Technics, the Large X-Wing, Falcon and Tie, the Electric Train, and the Mindstorms sets. (...) I can tell you Hammacher ran out of sets on Friday, they didn't figure that out until today. The problem I had is they didn't ship on a first come first serve basis. I've ordered from DYA and had no problems, but yes, it did take a while to get here. Emmannuel is very good about double-boxing the items so that they don't typically get damaged. Don't worry too much. I have placed 3 orders with DYA. The first order arrived in a little over 2 weeks. The next 2 orders took about 8 weeks. Don't forget the clearance sales! you might be able to find the Extreme Creatures set at a good discount this time of the year. You can get it in 9732 (Extreme Creatures). This set is rather expensive for what you get, but I can't think of any other obvious way to get this element. It sounds like my experiences so far with Airborne @home, which is what Wal-Mart and KB often use. They use Airborne to deliver your package to a local Airborne receiving center, which then drops off your package at your local post office. The (...)
