Few people with cable internet have "sprung" -- a cable modem costs
something like $300, maybe more, and they're not standardized, so you can't
buy one and use it anywhere. Almost everybody leases from their provider --
I pay $10/month. Seems like a good deal to me -- in 30 months, it's very
likely to be obsolete, or maybe I'll have moved to somewhere with a
different provider.
But yeah, I have cable 'net access. :)

| The reason Cable Modems have taken so long to be launched in the UK is that a standard had to finalised after the incompatibility problems that have plagued North America. | Hello, I just wanted to know who here sprung and bought a cable modem. I am asking Because I am trying to make my webpage friendly for web users. I don't want people waiting 5 years to download, just because they have a 56k. :-) Doyle (25 years ago, 17-Sep-99, to lugnet.general)
