It has been a while since this was discussed on LUGNET. A while ago I asked
my insureance agent what would be acceptable documentation for my LEGO
collection. She wasn't sure but suggested pictures. I had recently
acquired an Airport Shuttle which at the time was selling regularly on eBay
for about $400. I asked if an auction listing from eBay for the same item
would be acceptable for determining market value and she said it would be.
I should probably go through this excercise with her again as my collection
has grown a fair amount and has some valuable (with respect to what the
market will bear perspective) sets in it.
