I've been there too. I usually pick through the unsorted box and remove
stickered and fragile elements, wash and dry the collection and then
start doing a rough sort...then fine sort...and then start building the
sets...I don't know of a more efficient way to do it and it can take
MONTHS when you're doing it off and on...
