  1999 sets: Orlando report

I just phone ordered from Orlando. S@H doesn't appear to have anything in stock yet, though in their case I had to give them specific numbers for them to check, whereas at Orlando they knew what new stuff had just come in. Orlando LEGO Imagination (...) (26 years ago, 5-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

Re: "1999 sets are out" message on RTL

That cover is so cool!!!!!! We've got tons and tons of disk space and have an area set aside for 1999 catalog stuff, so if anyone wants to upload more scans to: ftp://ftp.lugnet.com/incoming/ go right ahead! --Todd p.s. Are those BURPs we see on (...) (26 years ago, 5-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

Re: "1999 sets are out" message on RTL

(...) Looks legit; it includes a scan of the catalog cover, with a SW theme (Vader TIE chasing an X-Wing... very classic image, plus very classy appearance as the design is very uncluttered). Here's the text of the message itself. Kevin ---...--- (...) (26 years ago, 4-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Met a LEGO rep...

(...) I would hope that they conduct a focus group for a $1Billion company. If they didn't, they would lose touch to what kids want real quick. (...) Unfortunately, could this be the 'Dumbening Down' of Lego? Hopefully not. Though my interests lie (...) (26 years ago, 4-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

"1999 sets are out" message on RTL

... but it's in binary and I cannot read it. It sits there and mocks me. Perhaps it's the read deal though... I guess we'll have to get the initial rush under control and see what happens. I've e-mailed the author asking to repost it in non-binary (...) (26 years ago, 4-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Met a LEGO rep...

Hmmm ... I would think that our (small) segment of the market brings in more dollars per person that kids do ... we have jobs. :) Also, I would say that our purchases are larger sets or higher volume on small sets. Also, on the same thought ... I (...) (26 years ago, 4-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

Re: Should RTL be hosted on this server?

(...) Im running FreeAgent 1.11/32 and I have 3 news servers configured. Just make new directories under the agent directory and create a shortcut for each server you want to reach. In the properties of these shortcuts, you leave the program (...) (26 years ago, 4-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Contest Ideas?

(...) I would rather do the voting method but it seems like with Email there would be too many ways to get lots of votes in. Not to say I don't trust anyone, but I would like to set this up as fair as possible. (...) I don't see why that would be a (...) (26 years ago, 4-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

Re: Top Ten Bumper Stickers I'd Like to See

(...) Sorrry, but physically, this don't hurt. It hurts to feel one very special peice being crushed, but that's different. I'll amend this to: You don't know pain till you've stepped on a microcontroller at night. (and yes, it had lots of sharp (...) (26 years ago, 4-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)
