Ah, yes, the new pictures on LUGNET are far more informative. On the
new pieces, I'd say there are some trans blue elements on the front that
I cannot at all comprehent what do. Then there are some L-shaped grey
one stud wide liftarms seen in the front and rear suspension. The shape
of them is like this:
o
ooo+
I.e. they have one cross axle hole and four ordinary holes, as far as I
can see, anyway. I can hardly wait to possess this piece, as I think it
will be highly useful!

The mechanism is very much like the Micro Technic 8204 Sky Flyer:

Yes, the front wheels are the same as in the 8209
http://www.lugnet.com/pause/search/?query=8209
I actually like the 8209 much better than the 8247. The 8209 I really
cute, and it has suspended rear wheels. But then, I'm not a too much of
a fan of the piston engines, as I have a huge bunch of the engine blocks
already.

True, but it still looks like it has the tilting rotor from 8412 and 8856.

I wonder just how the tilting mechanism works. Perhaps the angle is
fixed?
And do the tail propeller rotate as the main one does? There are no
signs of a transfer mechanism, but it may be hidden in the picture.
The model also has the new L-shaped liftarm in blue, there are two in
the front.

I'd say the size of it is much like that of 8440, but it may very well
be somewhat similar. Anyway, the set has many of the same features of
8440, probably the same flex system steering and the same V6 engine.
But it looks much more like 2556 Model Team Formel 1 Racer, especially
in the front. Are the wheel hubs chrome?
Note that the flex system steering on 8440 and 8437, which is probably
just the same on 8445, only gives very small steering angles, which is
why I dislike it. I like to make vehicles with a small turning radius.

I wonder what kind of pieces this is? Time will tell.

Yes, we have still not seen this, I suppose. The rumored number of it
is 8448, although I think that's a fairly low number. I wonder what
kind of wheels, suspension, steering and transmission it will have.

| I live pretty close to the Lego Imagination Center at WDW so I went down this morning to pick up a set and get the new catalog. The scans currently posted to LUGNET are a little blurry so here are my descriptions: Tech Play: 8252 - Blue and white (...) (26 years ago, 5-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)
