I don't anticipate LD having much of an impact, if any, on my parts sales. I
don't do auctions anymore because they're too labor-intensive for me (even
with my own auction site) and they last too long.
I'd be willing to bet my prices on just about anything will be so much lower
than what LD charges that it won't affect me at all.
Still, an e-commerce engine that allowed people to either sell or auction
their pieces and/or sets that charged just a flat percentage of the total -
when you figure in the large number of people who would use it (if it worked
like I and others have dreamed of) - you're talking a lot of money for very
little maintenance work. Dunno what that percentage would be, but I know I'd
happily go as high as 5% - maybe higher if it worked the way I want it to.

I think it is also fair to say that any major investment (time and/or money) in parts auctions may be rather short sighted given that Lego Direct is about to be thrust upon us.
