  Building the Christmas Train 2006: Set 101073 - brief report & pics
 
I start with my conclusion: If you look for a very nice Christmas present, for yourself or for your kids: go buy this Chrismas Train!!! (...) Mark & Ross Benz of BAYLUG created a working mag-lev train using lego train magnets. It canbe done, it just might get expensive if you use an all-Lego solution. I foud this curious picture: (URL) It is (poorly translated by google) a hovertrain, that runs on a monorail style track, with a jet(?) engine driving it forwards. they referred to it as a "plane without wings". I just almost finished this new trolley car. (URL) an open air trolley car that carries a small video camera that provides a minifig's eye view of the scenery as it rolls by. I was pleased to see your rake of Railtrack hoppers, the original was your best design IMHO. There's a lot of work in that one pic! In fact I would say that that is probably the most complicated design (in Lego) I have seen built in multiple. Tim (18 years ago, 19-Aug-06, to lugnet.trains)

Those of you who have visited Kansas City may recognize this famous icon. The Western Auto Building was built in 1915 for the Coca Cola Company and become home to Western Auto in the 1920s. HI All, Since that last post generated some traffic perhaps this will too! :) I am building a “4-8-4” (no prototype in mind) steam engine. I decided to fix the "8" wheels to the boiler/chassis and have the front and rear trucks extended on a pivot (...) (18 years ago, 18-Aug-06, to lugnet.trains)

Hi All, I am working on a 4-8-4 (6-wide, BBB wheels, in black) and I'm stuck trying to design or come up with ideas for the cow catcher. I know there are many great cowcatcher ideas out there.
