2) Make them yellow.  While preserving the "one minifig race" theory, also
kind of a cop-out.  Not to mention that Samuel L. Jackson and Billy Dee
Williams would have every right to be kind of upset. :D

Seeing as the old Anakin Skywalker (beneath the Darth Vader mask) was a gray
minifig head, I can see the logic in that.

I'm not sure I follow you on this point.  Not that I disagree, I just can't
tell what you're saying.  :D

3) Make them a darker tone.  Suddenly, every other minifig ever made is
caucasian- unless, of course, they take the tack that in every other case
there is one minifig race, but with licensed products they will attempt to
mimic the property as well as possible.  This seems to me to be the best
option, but that's just my opinion.

I bet they'll be dark.  IMHO, the triangle-split-moustache head looks like
Lando already but a darker one would look more realistic.

It's funny, I was just thinking that myself the other day.

Personally, I'd
like to see them be darker and thus more realistic.  I also bet LEGO would
catch bad PR (somewhere) by making yellow heads for Windu and Calrissian.

I bet they'd get it all over the place for making it yellow.  I bet they'd get
far less for making them dark and never introducing the darker heads into the
regular System line.

Was Darth Maul's face a tattoo?

Something I read indicated that the *red* was a tattoo on his *black* skin.  I
suppose it's possible with different genetics... it depends on what made his
race's skin dark.  Maybe rather than putting in dark ink his race is capable of
tattooing themselves in reverse by lightening pigmentation.  But I don't know.
I do know that Lucasfilm officially refers to it as a tattoo, and the only
place we see red on him is on his face- the rest of his head is black.  Drastic
tattooing, if his skin is naturally red, but still possible.

What is more interesting, I think (if you're implying what I think you're
implying) is that Gasgano was pale, pale grey in the movie.
