This has probably already been pointed out a few times, and doesn't
necessarily apply here because we're talking about minifigs, but I think
it's worth noting again that LEGO has for years been selling DUPLO figs in
various skin tones:

IOW, the colors are already part of the LEGO color set...all they would need
to do if they wanted to do this for Star Wars minifigs is specify a shade of
brown or tan instead of yellow.

| (...) Yeah, I'm aware of that set- in fact, I just referred someone else to it and 215 Red Indians. What I meant wasn't so much that Lego doesn't have the colors available. I meant that as soon as they place one darker toned minifig in, say, a Town (...) (26 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)
