If lego ever released a yellow lando, it would be a huge slap in the face to
every black hero ever and I'd definitely get Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and
the NAACP involved in the struggle to get lego to wake up and join the rest • of
us in the integrated real world

Well then, should "white" folks view the release of a yellow skinned Luke,
Han, etc. as a slap in the face? I have never, ever seen a yellow person
(except for the time I had a VERY bad fever and became jaundiced). How dare
they portray the caucasian race as YELLOW. I don't think the 'figs are
supposed to be "white" or "black" or anything but wee little LEGO people. Was
LEGO saying when they released Native Americans that Native Americans are the
same shade of skin as "white" folks? Are Pacific rim islanders and Asians the
same in skin tone as caucasians? Nope.

I guess the whole point is is that Han and Luke are as yellow in the movies as
Lando is.

Chris

I like this last point. I think the people who are bothered the most about
this minifig race issue are suffering from a mistaken impression that yellow
figs are/were ever meant to accurately represent caucasians.  These Barbie
analogies are irrelevant because Barbies have been made with accurate
caucasian skintones, so a real distinction can be made between them and
other 'racially' skin-toned Barbies.  Lego didn't start out by making a
pretense of accurately representing or otherwise singling out racial groups.
We could do worse than follow their example.
